Where you will be staying
For delegates staying overnight accommodation will be provided in the University halls of residence.
Rooms are single en suite study rooms with tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, toiletries and towels. Please note bedrooms do not have hairdryers, TVs or alarm clocks.
You will be able to pick up your room key and access your bedroom from 3.00pm at the latest. Bedrooms should be vacated by 10.00am on the day of departure.
Luggage can be stored in the conference centre.
Meals and Entertainment
Breakfast will be served in the halls of residence between 7.30am and 9.00am.
Lunch will be buffet style in the conference centre banqueting suite
Dinner on Monday night will be in the halls of residence from 7.30pm to 9.00pm The drinks reception, gala dinner and entertainment on Tuesday night will be in the conference centre from 7.30pm onwards.
The entertainment on Tuesday night will be in the form of a ceilidh provided by Sheffield band Beggars Belief from 9.30pm to 11.30pm.
There is a bar in the Rutland hall of residence on Monday night and in the conference centre on Tuesday night
Internet Access
In the halls of residence there is access for which you will need a username and password (available from NAVCA staff) – PLEASE NOTE – you will need to bring your own Ethernet data cable.
In the conference centre there is Wifi access and in addition there are three fixed computers available.
Other Facilities
The nearby swimming pool (open 7.30am – 8.30pm) and fitness centre (open 7.00am – 10.00pm) are free to use; there is a charge for other sports facilities. The nearest shops and banks are at the Portland Building which is 10 minutes’ walk away (see enclosed map). There are also religious facilities including a chapel and mosque.
